Welcome to the Natalie Quilter Photography Blog! My blog is a fun place to see more about what I am working on and to showcase my favorites from recent sessions. I'll also be announcing special promotions, mini-sessions, and other events throughout the year.
Also, I LOVE COMMENTS! Feel free to leave comments on any post that I make. I appreciate them very much and so do my clients.
Beyond the smiles, you will also find something a little extra to read about. Here you will find highlights of my *favorites* in the Raleigh-Durham area. Being a wife and a mom of two active boys keeps me on the go and I'm always on the look-out for other great businesses that help make my job as a mom a bit easier!
With my Nikon D3 and the camera on my iPhone, there is always something to capture and I can't wait to share it with you. I hope you enjoy my blog and thank you for stopping by!
Holidays=over! And a fresh new start for 2010! Below is a glimpse of one type of photography I really enjoy, but rarely do: Product Photography!

Also in the works are the Spring Mini Sessions. If you are interested, please let me know and tell me what YOU want out of your session! I am hearing from my clients…digital, digital, digital! So I think I am getting the idea now

Ok, I have majorly dropped off the blog bandwagon this last month. I have been busier than ever and it seems like most of my sessions have been…NEWBORNS! I’ve been loving every minute of it and I will try to post a whole set of my fav’s from my sessions this past month. I feel so honored to photograph these sweet little one’s while they are so young. I’m posting some of my favorite close-ups from a recent session.
Stay tuned…this weekend I hope to have up information on holiday specials and cards!

My little guy just turned 9 months old! It has really got to be one of my favorite baby stages. I had a mini-photo shoot with baby quilter the other day while big brother was at camp. We had a great time despite his best efforts to get his little hands all over my new Nikon.

Exciting news!!! I have been commissioned to do the newborn photography for a new children’s book to be published this fall 2009.
THIS CASTING CALL IS SEARCHING FOR
A newborn baby, preferably under 2 weeks (but will accept up to 4 weeks) old along with the baby’s mother. If an older female sibling is available, that is preferred. If not, I will have an older child available to pose as an older sibling.
THIS CASTING SESSION WILL
• Be goaled towards capturing certain images and poses (if time and patience permits with the children, additional poses and images will be attempted and will be given to the participants in print format (sized 4×6). Participants will also receive a complimentary copy of the book.
• Require a model release as the images will be published
THE DATES FOR THE PHOTO SHOOT
• Saturday, August 15th
I will be screening potential candidates to match artistic and publishing requirements starting this week, please email:
natalie@nataliequilterphotography.com with your information and recent picture.
I wanted to share some of my fav’s from the spring mini sessions. The sessions were a lot of fun for me (a bit tiring too!) and I felt so relieved that the weather cooperated each day. I was so happy to have so many families participate this year! I will definitely make the mini sessions part of spring each year!

A quick reminder for current clients. I will be “out of the office” from May 2 – 9th. My family will be attempting our first vacation together to Disney World. I couldn’t be more excited! I’m also planning to have a fellow photographer take my families portrait; I have to admit I’m a bit nervous. I definitely enjoy being behind the camera instead of in front of it!!!
Behind the camera I feel like a casual observer and I love photographing something happening between a parent and child that is a bit candid and not completely scripted. These are a couple of my favorites from a recent session at Duke Gardens.
A quick digression from photography news…I just caught the Oprah show (I’m often watching my recorded version very late at night) and I was so inspired tonight! If you didn’t see it today, check out the Oprah website. Here is a link with great tips on recycling and using reusable’s (using less plastic)!
Also, here is a peek from a recent session. These siblings were so much fun to photograph; they did a wonderful job for me and looked absolutely gorgeous!!!
